CITIZEN INITIATED REFERENDUMS TO IMPOSE NEW DISCIPLINE ON CANBERRA

The Liberty & Democracy Party (LDP) seeks to bring a further level of discipline into the area of law making with Citizen Initiated Referendums.
“We believe that if there is majority support to strike down any law on the books in this country, the people should have their will,” said Daniel Farmilo, the LDP candidate for the seat of Richmond.
“Citizen Initiated Referendums would allow for greater direct participation by the people of Australia into our democratic process. After all, there are far more general citizens than there are politicians.
“This would allow the people of Australia to act as the ‘third House of Parliament’ or the ’second house of review’.
“The Government should be a servant, not a master,” added Farmilo
The Liberty & Democracy party is running candidates for the lower house and the senate across Australia on a platform of low taxes, limited government, and personal responsibility.

Daniel Farmilo has been selected by the newly registered Liberty &
Democracy Party (LDP) to contest the Division of Richmond in the
upcoming federal election.
He is a strong proponent of civil rights and free market economics,
and believes that the Government should get out of our pockets and out
of our faces.
“I am running for the LDP because it is the only party that promises
to reduce Government control in our individual lives. The Liberal
Party has abandoned its principles in its quest to win elections,”
Farmilo said.
The Liberty & Democracy Party stands on two main principles: “You pay
too much tax,” and “It’s your choice, not the Government’s”.
“All of our policies tend towards reducing Government influence in our
lives, whether that be by promoting free trade and low taxes, which
are traditionally right-wing policies, or by legalising voluntary
euthanasia, which could be considered a traditionally left-wing
policy,” said Farmilo.
